Key Concept: exploring line quality and character through doodling

Objective: Students will
a) Doodle/Draw Organic and geometric doodles
b) Show quality and characteristics of line light to dark

*Procedure - 1 Pencil and line quality
a) explore the concept of doodling conscious and subconscious/Organic and geometric.
b) Lines should overlap, interlock, move and suggest movement Create texture and Pattern and value
c) lines should exhibit tonal qualities, and characteristics from descriptive list. Above
d) There is no starting over. Student must meet changes and flow with them.
e) Fluidity is important to the drawing.
f) produce one finished doodle.

b) Show depth by using line
c) Use different characteristics of line
d) Illustrate different levels of depth
e) Correlating the concepts of space and depth.
Procedure:
a) Possible divisions of paper to acquire levels of space
b) explore the concept of doodling – consciuos linking together or drawn lines or concepts.
c) Pencil or pen first to start.
d) Lines should overlap, interlock, move and suggest movement.
e) There is no starting over. Student must meet changes and flow with them.
f) Fluidity is important to the drawing.
Materials; 9x12 paper white, black ink, pens w/ drawing nibs and pencils & rulers.

b) use of line to determine space and depth (loose /open, tight/ close)
c) use of pen
